A Modern NYC Love Story
Rebecca and David met in 2018 on Hinge and shared what she still calls the longest (and best) date of her life — a seven-hour brunch at Blockheads that set the tone for everything that followed. Six years later, their proposal story became uniquely theirs: Rebecca proposed to David on Leap Day 2024, and on the exact six-year anniversary of their first date, David proposed back.
Now, the pair lives in Astoria with their beloved cat, enjoying the everyday magic of their favorite neighborhood — the perfect backdrop for their intimate NYC wedding.
Why They Chose the Stella & Kimpton Collections
With an October wedding date, Rebecca envisioned a warm fall palette, for their wedding flowers, layered with depth and texture. The deep burgundy tones, amber accents, and rich details of the Stella Collection instantly stood out. To add even more dimension and contrast, she incorporated statement pieces from the Kimpton Collection, a pairing that complemented the venue’s black and brass aesthetic perfectly.
For her bridal bouquet, Rebecca chose the Stella Bridal Bouquet (Rouge) — a bold, romantic option that aligned beautifully with her fall color palette. David wore the Stella Ranunculus Boutonniere, styled flawlessly with his burgundy suit and black tie.

For the wedding party, Rebecca selected a mix of posies from the Stella, Kimpton, Olivia, and Nina Collections. Each posy coordinated perfectly while giving her mother, mother-in-law, and bridesmaids a distinct yet cohesive look.

Mixing wedding flower collections allowed Rebecca to create a palette that felt layered and personal — and the Stella Collection wedding flowers quickly became some of her favorite details of the entire wedding.
Ceremony Details
Rebecca and David’s ceremony design struck the perfect balance between warmth and modern NYC sophistication. To complement the venue’s black and gold interior, the couple selected a mix of gold and pewter stands in both tall and short heights — an elevated approach that added dimension without crowding the intimate space.
- Stella Floral Meadows sat atop the tall gold stands, adding height and fall color behind the couple
- Stella Large Vaseless Centerpieces rested on the short pewter stands, creating a lower, lush layer
- Kimpton Floral Meadows were styled at the base to ground the design
The result was a stunning, multi-layered focal point that beautifully framed ceremony space for the bride and groom — a warm, romantic backdrop that photographed with ease.

Reception Details
For the wedding reception, Rebecca embraced one of the biggest advantages of renting florals: reusability. All of the ceremony arrangements were repurposed for the couple’s sweetheart table, adding depth, texture, and rich fall tones to their intimate setup.
Elsewhere in the restaurant, dining tables — gorgeous on their own — were accented with varying bud vases filled with posies and rose buds. The simple arrangements brought soft, cohesive color to the space without overpowering the venue’s modern aesthetic.
The overall reception atmosphere felt warm, intentional, and perfectly in line with Rebecca and David’s vision.

A Sustainable, Stylish NYC Wedding Done Right
Rebecca and David’s celebration is a perfect example of how intentional choices and sustainable alternatives can transform a wedding day. Their warm fall palette, paired with the Stella and Kimpton Collections, created an elevated, editorial-worthy look — all without the waste or high cost of traditional fresh flowers.
Most importantly, their wedding felt true to who they are: modern, thoughtful, and completely in love.
Their story is a beautiful reminder that you don’t need an unlimited budget or a massive space to create something unforgettable — especially when planning a wedding in New York City. With the right tools, the right partner vendors, and a vision grounded in what truly matters, every detail can fall effortlessly into place.
